Considering PvE players were begging for something to do...yes. Take out title hunting; what else is there to the endgame after you do all the dungeons and stuff a couple times? Ok , having 20k chests opened is sick , i agree. Saying that most ppl with max TH botted it is like making up statistics .... you know , 90% of them are false.

Well i personally maxed my Treasure Hunter before EotN came out. And many other people did that too... So there wasn't even the possibility to bot the title =)

And to say that most people with treasure hunter are botters just sucks...
Ofc its absolutely true that many people botted the title....

But still:
many ppl botted luxon / kurzick max
many ppl bought unid golds from bots for wisdom title
many ppl bot/sync in RA/TA
many ppl have farm bots for party/sweet/alc items
many ppl used alcohol click bot

And nobody is talking shit like... wow max alcohol title.. you're a botter!
so nobody should do that with treasure hunter's too lol

And of course talking shit like most treasure hunters are botters makes all with treasure hunter look good cause you can't see if he botted it or did it the legal way....

Yes there were no bots before EOtN -.- the game was bot free.

People with max drunkard are called botter more often then people with max treasure hunter. That because there are more people with max drunkard the bot is alot easier clickbot versus a bot that needs to adjust to changing chest locations and enemy locations etc. and because of the publicity ban Anet made lately.

Orly didn't know you knew every bot thats excists in this game maybe you should try getting a job at Anet and help them find bots. You look like you work there already ow 1 bot that must be all lets go on and ignore the rest that can be out there.

Uhmmmm, bots existed pre eotn... just because its the one used now....Doesn't mean that there wasn't one used pre eotn that wasn't as efficient and thereby isn't used anymore.

Also, yeah most of my unid'd golds that i bought were mostly from botters...or at least I suspected they were....I cant guarantee that they were of course.

Not bothering with Treasure Hunter myself, sure I might be depriving myself of many extremely monotonous hours and (possibly) some pixels when GW2 comes out, but I'm sure I can live with it. Playing other games that are much more fun than opening chest after chest after chest also helps

I am an addicted treasure hunter, first i did it to max out my treasure hunter titel opening normal mode chests. The result was that after opening 10.000 chest my wisdom titel was only at 3500 and that includes gold drops i got while normal playing. So in order to max out wisdom titel i had to open more chests and in hardmode to get more gold drops. My next titel maxed was the Lucky titel , i just spend like 100k on the rings seeing it's a total waste of time and money i just got that titel maxed opening chests and retaining lockpicks. Finaly i maxed wisdom but my unlucky titel was only at 160.000 that was befor the update and you only got 25 pts for breaking a lockpick. I continued opening chest during normal gameplay but wasn't chestrunning anymore. After the Unlucky points update i decide to max the unlucky title. I maxed it by opening chests in normal mode since you get more unluckypoints for breaking lockpicks there. My Treasure hunter titel reached 23.500 chest by maxing out the unlucky titel that was a year ago. I still open chests now, just because i'm adicted to it , but i only open them while normal gameplay and guess what... my treasure hunter titel is at 27.315 , wisdom at 13.030 because i let my guildmate id my golddrops for his titel, my lucky titel is at an astronomicaly 3.986.505 and my unlucky at 600.033.

Moral of this it is that if you play the game normaly and open every chest you encounter you will end up geting these titels anyways i opened 4000 chest in 1 year not even trying to run chests. On a sidenote when i was chestrunning i managed to do 250 chest a night (8 hours non-stop chestrunning in order to be able to do that i had to be drunk watch tv and speak to guildmates on teamspeak at the same time to entertain me... there is no way i could run chest again now).

No the Treasurehunter and Wisdom Title realy should be maxed befor you can put them in your HoM. If you can't do it then why do you bother with Titles in the first place. Don't just do Titels for the HoM.

Im not liking how people are saying theres not alot of point if your not doing the titles for the HoM, ya know i was happy doing these personal achievments before EoTN existed. Let the HoM accept them non-maxed as it does and if you want to continue the title, then so be it.
Atleast with this title it does give you a small in game benefit.

There used to be a chest right outside Jade Flats (Kurzick) down the hill a bit that spawned nearly every time you zoned into Melandru's Hope.

It got exploited pretty heavily & ANet finally decided to nerf how chests spawn. Probably due to the CR bots back then.

never heard of a chestrunning bot for that area before....

still it sucks to say chestrunners are all botters... cause its still false even if title could be botted from the beginning :P

LOL, someone feels my love. I stick to it. I guarantee there are fewer Grand Master Treasure Hunters than GWAMM so yes it is more rare.

I usually run those chests since they doesnt waste my time unless im doing a mission so not all of them are bots.
I wouldnt even consider using one either. o_O

But i have seen bots there so..

Alot of bots excisted for the last 5 years but they weren't as public back then. Atleast not as much as the last year.

And you really should ignore the people that say chestrunners are all botters because it's just a way for people to get other who made a archievment down to there lvl because there to lazy or bored to do it themself. Just a group of haters feeling themself unworthy and can't stand people that can do something they can't.

that is because GWAMM is cooler title and treasure hunter isn't necessary to get it. 5months late reply again! gwamm makes you far more prestige than treasure hunter...
